Library Tea Tasting

A few weeks ago, I did a tea tasting for the Messiah College Library.  It was held in the upstairs gallery at the Midtown Scholar Bookstore in Harrisburg.  This was a very relaxed tasting and included a general overview of what tea is, a brief history, and how to prepare it.

Here's my tea brewing station set up.  Unfortunately, I didn't get a closer shot so you can't see everything.  I had a bamboo runner down the center of the table which the tea pots sat on top of.  Each of the 3 teas were labeled and brewed in 2 tea pots.   The teas drank during this tasting were - White Peach, Jasmine Pearl, and Wuyi Oolong (all from Rishi).

Here's an overview of the space set up.  It was a little challenging because of the size of the space, but we made it work well.  We could only have one table comfortably, so we made use of the low top bookshelves around the room.
Kinsey was leading a coffee cupping afterwards, so you can see some of his coffee things on the back shelf as well.

Here's a close up of the mugs I use for the the tea tastings and catering.  They are hold 7 oz and feel really nice in your hand.  There are 2 different designs and are really fun.

Here were the dessert pairings for the tea.  (Recipes coming soon!)
*Dark Chocolate Madeleines to go with the White Peach Blossom
*Citrus Cornmeal Shortbread to go with the Jasmine Pearl
*Triple Ginger Cookies to go with the Wuyi
